Hyun-Kwan Yang finishes his PhD work
Hyun-Kwan Yang finished his PhD work last november with a thesis on the interaction of polyelectolyte brushes with oppositely charged PELs. In his extensive investigations he studied various combinations of such charged polymers and worked principles that govern the adsorption behavior. It turned out that especially systems that use weak PELs show a very rich behavior such that even very thick individual layers can be adsorbed. The swelling behavior of the resulting complexes appears to be one crucial parameter among others.
Hyun-Kwan now joined the group of Jan Genzer at North Carolina State University to continue his studies on thin polymer layers.
