CPI Winterschool 2008: The Schauinsland rumbled but did not fall
Science and Poker, Science and Singstar, Science and Singing. A lot of science (typically until pretty late at night) was accompanied by quite some group life which materialized in never-ending poker rounds, and ample singing in 'philharmonic choir quality' or close.
Four days of minisymposia on our research (grouped around the general topics: polymer brushes, polymer networks, Surfaces for actuation, biosensors from basics to all sorts of applications and the 'G show'). All symposia featured short presentations of the research in our group and one to two hours of discussions in working groups as well as all together. Many ideas popped up and experiments for many years were designed and refined. Let's hope that we get around to do at least some of them!
And for the very first time: WE HAD GREAT WEATHER! Which we never had so far. And, hey, we liked it.
Some pics from awesome to awful - I guess.
