Travel
By Train
Trains arrive at Freiburg at 2 minutes past the hour from the north (Frankfurt, Karlsruhe) and 6 minutes to the hour from the south (Zurich, Bern, Basel). From the station use one of the following alternatives.
From Freiburg main station take the train (S-Bahn) towards "Breisach". Exit at "Neue Messe/Universität" after about 3 min. Then it will take you a short walk of 2 min. to "Georges-Köhler-Allee 103". The "Breisgau-S-Bahn departs roughly every 30 min.
Alternative from Freiburg main station take a taxi to "Universitätsgelände Flugplatz/Fakultät für Angewandte Wissenschaften" and direct the taxi driver to Building 103 using the attached campus map. The trip will last about 10 minutes and will cost you roughly 15.00 DM.
Hint: When purchasing your train ticket to Freiburg give "Freiburg Messe / Uni" as your destination. then you don't have to buy any further tickets (and it's cheaper too).
By Car
Refer to the attached schematic street map. From Karlsruhe or Basel you will most likely arrive on highway A5. Take exit "Freiburg Mitte" (neither "Freiburg Nord" nor "Freiburg Süd"). On route B31a follow direction "Freiburg Stadtmitte/Donaueschingen". Take fourth exit "Sportzentrum West / Uni-Kliniken / FR Bischofslinde..." into "Berliner Allee" and follow north, until you have passed under two bridges. 100 meters after the second bridge enter the university campus to the left. Follow the attached campus map to Building 103.
By Plane
The nearest airport is "Basel/Mulhouse". An hourly shuttle service connects it to Freiburg Main Station. Alternative airports are Zurich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt or Strasbourg. Each is about two hours from Freiburg.
