VitaDr. Witali Beichel

Dr. Witali Beichel studied chemistry at the Philipps-University Marburg and obtained his Diplom in 2009. He finished his PhD studies with summa cum laude in 2013 at the Inorganic Chemistry department of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg (Prof. Dr. Ingo Krossing) working in the field of ionic liquids. After a PostDoc period at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Prof. Dr. Claus Feldmann, nanomaterials) he returned to Freiburg and worked as project and group leader of the BASF Battery Materials Laboratory at the Freiburg Materials Research Center focusing on the electrolyte of Lithium-Ion-Batteries (LIBs). Since August 2017 Dr. Witali Beichel is working as an independent researcher at the MEMS Laboratory in the Porous Media group (since 2018 Electrochemical Energy Systems) with Dr. Simon Thiele. His current research interests are Post-LIB-Technologies, in particular sodium- and potassium-based battery systems.
