Bibhu Kar was born in Odisha, India, and earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, in 2012. Following graduation, he gained professional experience at Coal India Limited. In December 2017, he completed his master’s degree in Microsystems Engineering at IMTEK, University of Freiburg.
In February 2018, he joined the Laboratory of Microactuators at the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK), University of Freiburg. From November 2019 to June 2025, he pursued his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Ulrike Wallrabe, focusing on acoustic power transfer and acoustic sensing through metal. Afterward, he joined the Microsystems Materials Laboratory, where he currently works on developing novel data fusion methods for the integration of semiconductor-based Hall sensors with XMR sensors.
