Research

Dr.-Ing. Ana Belén Amado Rey´s research focuses on the development of a wearable ultrasound system that is able to continuously measure vital parameters such as blood pressure, pulse wave velocity (PWV), stiffness index, arterial distension, arterial wall thickness and blood velocity. Her research covers the main following points:

1. Characterization and analysis of piezo-elements such as Bulk PZT, CMUTs and pMUTs.

2. Development of sender/receiver circuits for the biosensors: Pulser, LNA, Power Amplifier, Mixer, Filter, DAC and high-voltage DC supply.

3. Signal digitalization and signal processing: including embedding systems such as VHDL-Programming (FPGA), Arduino and also interfaces as MatLab and LabView.

4. Application of the biosensors into ex-vivo studies.

5. Phantom fabrication.
