Projects
Aktive Microports

Project description
A miniaturized autonomous drug delivery system to carry chemotherapeutic studies in rats has been developed and tested (Fig. 1). The heart of the dosing system is a backpressure independent piezoelectric micropump. A back pressure independent operation up to 30 kPa was demonstrated with flow rates below 1.5 µl / min. The overall system has dimensions of 49 x 36 x 26 mm³ and a curb weight of 36g with a reservoir size of 10 ml and can be operated via an infrared interface. The system has been successfully used in a study of metronomic therapy with doxorubicin prostate carcinomas .
