Bastian Breiner studied biochemistry at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, specializing in virology, organic chemistry and pathobiochemistry. For his diploma thesis in 2018 at the Junior Research Group of Dr. rer. nat. Claudia Simon, he performed structural analysis of the small coat protein L2 of the papilloma virus in solution and liposomes. Since 2019 he does his PhD and works as an R&D engineer at the Department of Microsystems Engineering at Hahn-Schickard in Freiburg. His focus lies on the development of lateral flow immunoassays for centrifugal microfluidic platforms.
