Christian Piesold studied chemistry at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. He completed his bachelor studies in 2017 at the institute of organic chemistry and chemical biology with his thesis about organocatalysis in the research group of Prof. Michael Göbel. In 2021 he completed his master’s degree with an external thesis at the Fraunhofer ISC in Würzburg, specializing in solid-state batteries. From September 2021 onward he pursued his Ph.D. at IMTEK in the Electrochemical Energy Systems research group, focusing on polymer electrolytes for PEM electrolysis. Since June 2026 he is working as a researcher at IMTEK and Hahn-Schickard.
