Endoscopic optical coherence tomography

Project description

We develop advanced MEMS probes for endoscopic optical coherence tomography (OCT) to obtain high quality 3D imaging of biological tissues. Goals: * Develop a MEMS probe capable of 3D positioning of the focus (lateral and axial scan) * Optimize the probe: micro-mechanics, optics, biology * Application of the MEMS-probe in an OCT imaging setup * In-vivo measurements in clinical environment Approach: * Develop electrostatically actuated scanning micro-mirrors (2D-lateral scan) * Develop tunable micro-lenses (axial scan into tissues) * Microsystems and assembly technologies to realize the probe * Build an en-face OCT configuration and synchronize its functionality to the probe.
