Projects
Thermo-pneumatically actuated tunable membrane optics
Project description
We are investigating new concepts for compact, tunable thermo-pneumatic microlenses. Using thermo-pneumatic actuation, this adaptive optical microsystem is completely integrated and requires no external pressure controllers for operation. The integrated tunable microlens is capable of adjusting its focal length over a wide range without any mechanically moving parts. Novel membrane materials and fabrication concepts are being developed.
