NASS - Verbundprojekt: Entwicklung eines neuronal gesteuerten Assistenzsystems für Sprach und Umgebungssteuerung - NASS

Projektbeschreibung

The project aims at developing a system for communication and environmental control using brain activity. This project brings together the many different qualities of the participating academic and industrial partners: CorTec is coordinating the project and provides its platform system that can measure and stimulate brain activity. This technology comes as an implantable device, works in real-time and is suited for long-term use. The Department for Microsystems Engineering at the University of Freiburg helps to optimize the implantable part of the technology platform. Multi Channel Systems (MCS) is responsible for the implant’s electronics and the development of an embedded system. The iEEG and Brain Imaging Research Group at the University Clinics of Freiburg contributes scientific results from the research on decoding brain signals to control commands. INCAP designs an application for environmental control and communication that includes an interface to the implantable device so it can be controlled by the user’s brain signals.
