CV / Former activities
Rahul Laha completed his Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology (Kolkata, India) in 2024. He completed his undergraduate thesis on EEG-based emotional analysis and neuro-cognitive pattern mapping, exploring the relationship between brainwave activity and human emotions. In the same year, he joined the M.Sc. program in Embedded Systems Engineering at the University of Freiburg, with a strong focus on biomedical applications.
In early 2025, he joined the Laboratory for Biomedical Microtechnology (IMBIT), where he worked on non-invasive blood pressure estimation using ECG and PPG signal processing. At IMTEK, he is currently working on the development, characterization, and assembly of neural electrodes intended for implantation in the brains of mice. This work involves a combination of advanced microsystem techniques, including PCB fabrication, flip-chip bonding, wire bonding, and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), to build and integrate a complete electrode setup for preclinical studies.
