Mark Skamrahl
I am a Biochemist by training with a strong interest in the physical functioning of biological systems. My aim is to understand medically relevant problems in living cells by combining state-of-the-art biophysical techniques.
I obtained my bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen with an emphasis on biophysics. I currently study in the interdisciplinary “Biochemistry and Biophysics” master’s programme at the University of Freiburg.
In April 2017, I started working on my master's thesis in the Bio- and Nano-Photonics research group. My project aims to characterise phagocytosis of macrophage cells using photonic force microscopy, fluorescence, and ROCS microscopy.
