PostDoc

VitaDr. Andreas Schreiber 2021-06

Dr. Andreas Schreiber studied Chemistry, Biology and Sports Science at the University of Leipzig and received his 1st State Examination in 2007. The main focus of his studies abroad and postgraduate studies were Environmental Toxicology and Physiology. He obtained his PhD in the field of Synthetic Biology at the Freiburg Institute of Advanced Studies (FRIAS). There he developed defined biohybrid - nanostructures with enhanced optical and magnetic properties using confined protein adapter molecules. During his PostDoc at the Center for Biosystems Analysis (ZBSA), he assembled and modified protein-based supramolecular nanostructures for targeted drug delivery and synthesis of artificial cells.

In May 2020, Andreas Schreiber joined Hahn-Schickard in the Electrochemical Biosensors group. His current research interests include assay development for fully integrated "Sample to Answer Systems" based on isothermal amplification methods and electrochemical detection.

Since 2022 he is heading the group of electrochemical biosensors for the development of portable homecare diagnostics at Hahn-Schickard.
