Philipp Heizmann

PhD student

VitaPhilipp Heizmann

Philipp Heizmann studied Chemistry at the Fakultät für Chemie und Pharmazie at the University of Freiburg. He graduated in 2017 in the Institute of Inorganic and Analytic Chemistry with a bachelor's thesis on manganese oxide coated carbon electrodes as water oxidation anodes. During the subsequent consecutive master's course in Freiburg, he spent one semester abroad at the University of Uppsala, Sweden, where he investigated bioinspired water oxidation catalysts. He completed his master's degree in 2019 with a master‘s thesis on the electrochemical oxidation of allylic alcohols. In March 2020, he started his Ph.D. at the Laboratory for MEMS applications (IMTEK) in the research group Electrochemical Energy Systems. His chief focus is on the micro- and nanoscopic characterization of fuel cells and water electrolyzers via electron microscopic investigations (FIB/SEM, S/TEM, TEM).
